Rapper Jim Jones has been a busy bee as of late. He's working on his forthcoming project El Capo, he's dropped a few new releases including his Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y-assisted single "4/20," and he hopped onstage at Jay Z's re-opening of NYC's historic Webster Hall last Friday. The festive weekend continued when Jones got together with a few dozen of his closest friends to help celebrate his longtime love Chrissy Lampkin's 48th birthday.
“I don’t know how many people got to end up with their crush in life, but I kinda did. That’s a Harlem thing,” Jones joked. “But besides that, I haven’t met anyone like you in my life. You’re very smart, you know a lot. You should’ve finished going to school is what you should have did [everyone laughs]. But she’s definitely intelligent, sweet, loving. I know I’m not the easiest person, so for her to stick by me for so long, I know she’s definitely a soldier that I love so much. Happy birthday...I wish you many more. I'm glad that I'm here with you. I'm glad that your friends support you."
The former Love & Hip Hop New York couple were one of the first cast members on the hit VH1 show, along with Jones' unforgettable mother, but the trio bowed out gracefully after a few years. They even later had their own reality shows with Chrissy & Mr. Jones and Jim & Chrissy: Vow or Never before the pair popped up on WeTV's Marriage Boot Camp Family Edition 2 where they talked out their issues with Mama Jones.
