Famed soul singer Aretha Franklin's 72nd birthday arrives soon, on March 25th, but she's already begun celebrating, holding a small party at the Ritz in New York City on Saturday. On that same day she spoke to Billboard about upcoming music plans, which include Andre 3000 and Babyface.
In addition to Three Stacks starring as Jimi Hendrix in the upcoming biopic, the actor/rapper has been working with Aretha on new music-- we can assume this is for a new album, although Aretha was not clear either way. "Babyface is working on the tracks," she told Billboard. She added, "And I think Andre 2000 - is it two or three? 3000 is going to be doing some of the tracks with him."
When asked what she would like for her birthday, the singer replied "I'm looking for a record deal for my granddaughter Victorie, and my son Kecalf."
