Earlier this week, a clip went viral of heavyweight boxing star Kubrat Pulev planting a kiss on female reporter Jenny Sushe during an interview after his fight against Bogdan Dinu. Sushe was finishing up her interview with the boxer when all of a sudden he grabbed her face and kissed her. While Sushe laughed it off in the moment, it's clear that she was just shocked and nervous at what had happened. After the clip made its way to the internet, Sushe joined forces with lawyer Gloria Allred to seek legal action against Pulev.
According to a report from TMZ Sports, the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) has suspended Pulev indefinitely pending a hearing where he will have to explain his actions.
Just yesterday, Sushe and Allred appeared in front of the media to address the situation and explain their plan of action against Pulev. Part of that was sending a letter to the CSAC calling for his suspension.
"I did not encourage or consent to Mr. Pulev grabbing my face, kissing me, or grabbing my backside," Sushe explained. "I was there at the event covering the boxing match as a professional member of the press. Kissing a woman on her lips without her consent and grabbing her is not acceptable."
Pulev explained his actions on Twitter, saying that the two are friends and that they had cleared the air over it at a party later that night.
