Game Of Thrones will premiere the longest episode in series history tonight. The Battle of Winterfell is expected to be traumatic for many, as they plan to say farewell to some of their favorite characters. The Night King and the army of the dead march on Winterfell, and the living are hopelessly outnumbered. Can Jon Snow, or Aegon Targaryen, and his forces stop the dead? We doubt that will be answered in the third episode of the season. The Night King will most likely live through until the second to last or final episode, killing your favorite characters along the way.
Kristofer Hivju, who plays Tormund, and Richard Dormer, who plays Beric, spoke with TVLine about the upcoming battle. Neither actor appeared to be too concerned about the safety of their characters. “He’s ready,” Dormer stated. “If it happens to him and he goes and finally meets the Red God, he’ll have a smile on his face, because he’ll know that he’s fulfilled his purpose.” Hivju echoed his sentiment. “Tormund has been focused on the dead since he was a child and old enough to hear the stories,” he said. “He’s grown up as a warrior… His life is fighting, and I think that gives him a kick, and he loves fighting because it’s part of his DNA.” We'll find out tonight if either of them makes it out alive.
