Last year, Meek Mill started to put a lot of effort into growing Melii as one of the top up-and-coming female artists in the rap game. The young New York spitter was even featured on his highly-successful Championships album, enjoying Meek's guidance under his Dreamchasers imprint. However, she's been taken advantage of in the past when it comes to management and she may have started seeing signs of that with Meek's team. Yesterday, it was announced that Melii had teamed up with Tory Lanez under his One Umbrella label and Meek found out through an Instagram post. Needless to say, he was vexed.
The Philadelphia native commented underneath the photo of Melii celebrating her album release, calling her out and taking aim at Tory in his response. "This a corny ass move on both y'all end," wrote Meek. The comment has since been deleted but it stayed up for long enough that people have already started to assume a beef is brewing. Meek famously battled Toronto's golden child Drake in the past and even though he's collaborated many times with Drizzy's neighbor Tory, Meek doesn't seem too happy about this situation.
Melii's new album is officially out now, which you can check out here. Do you think her partnership with Tory Lanez will pay off in the long run or should she have stuck with Meek Mill?
