Adesanya is a rising star in the UFC.

Israel Adesanya has been one of the most exciting up and coming stars in the UFC and with a perfect record of 17-0, the young fighter is already setting his sights on some of the best in the world. Adesanya beat Anderson Silva a few months back and most recently, he defeated Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 236 for the interim middleweight title. Adesanya went on The Breakfast Club yesterday to talk about his recent UFC title victory and how his mindset was when he went into the Octagon with Gastelum.

"I was trying to kill him," Adesanya said. The young fighter added to the statement by saying that he goes into the octagon every fight ready to die and that he's had one of his boxer friends die in the ring. For Adesanya' it's his competitive spirit that makes him feel that way.

Adesanya also spoke about some comments Anderson Silva made after the young fighter got into a back and forth with Jon Jones. Silva said Adesanya should be more respectful and that he was out of line.

"We left all in the cage, I've said what I've had to say to him," Adesanya said, referencing his recent win against Silva. "I didn't even watch the interview I'll let him say his thing. I respect him."

The fighter also talked about Robert Whittaker and how he's sick of people calling him the interim champ when he knows he's the real title holder.
