Bars have never left the itinerary; they may be a little harder to find, but they're out there for those willing. Case in point, the Griselda squad recently hit up Sway In The Morning for a conversation about the moves to come. Around the 26 minute mark, Sway boldly suggests a cypher, a prospect that finds the Griselda boys channeling Ron Burgundy pulling a "jazz flute" from out his sleeve. Conway suggests that Rick Hyde (a signee of Benny's BSF Imprint) step to the task, and he acquiesces. Queuing up an appropriately grimy instrumental, Hyde sets it off with the rare hip-hop hockey reference. "Looking like the Sabres with the sticks on us," he raps. "Hoping no one out the inner circle ever switch on us, Bruce Jenner he turned bitch on us."
Conway picks up the biscuit, and proceeds to effortlessly lay down some bars. "Matter fact, I ain't never spend none of Marshall's money," he boasts, "I have yet to spend a Shady dollar, fur on the collar leather navy bomber." Benny The Butcher closes it off, a reminder that the Griselda movement stays focused on delivering that hard-hitting Buffalo sound for the streets. Evocative of the Lox in their heyday, it will be interesting to see where Westside Gunn, Conway, Benny and Ricky Hyde's next steps take them.
