In his music, NLE Choppa has been compared to NBA YoungBoy on numerous occasions. The two rappers have similar styles, both hailing from the south and spitting rhymes about their experiences in the street. Choppa is a newer face than YoungBoy but considering the fact they're both teenagers, sound similar and have near-identical come-ups, the comparison makes sense. In the past, Choppa hasn't been too disturbed by the YoungBoy talk. After all, the 19-year-old is insanely successful and has one of the biggest followings in the world. On another note though, Choppa wants to stand out from the crowd so the Memphis spitter finally clapped back at a fan when he got sick of hearing about YoungBoy.
The 16-year-old Choppa posted a photo of himself with some Jamaican slang as his caption, writing, "Dread Headed Don DaDa NO RAP CAP." One fan hopped into his comments to make a comparison that, at this point, has simply run its course. "Wanna be youngboy so bad," said the hater. The comments section has since been disabled but according to Akademiks' page, the artist came back with some words to differentiate himself from NBA YoungBoy.
"Bitch u sound dumb ash," he said. "I'm half Jamaican and don dada is a Jamaican slang/term shut yo dumb ass up yall mfers think youngboy started everything so if younoy tryna be Jamaican fytb."
Clearly, NLE Choppa has had enough of the back-and-forth and he's ready to move past the constant shadow of NBA YoungBoy.
