Chris Brown has announced the official release date for his upcoming album, "X".

Release dates get pushed back all the time, but the delay of Chris Brown's X is definitely a unique case. With the singer being in and out of rehab, and subsequently going to jail for a few months, focus quickly left his next studio album.

With all that chaos ensuing, Chris actually manage to score himself a hit with "Loyal", so it's not all that surprising that he's been able to score himself a release date as a free man.

Taking to his Instagram account today, Brown revealed that will be dropping September 16th. No word on whether any or all of the pre-releases from the album will make the cut ("Fine China" is over a year old at this point). Will it actually happen?

Check out his post below.

[UPDATE: Official Cover Art Revealed]

Chris Brown is getting back on his music grind, and finally solidified a release date for X earlier this week. Breezy announced the album is dropping on September 16th, and keeping in line with all the promo images we've seen for X, he reveals the official artwork for it today via Twitter.

Take a look at the album cover, which is black and white and features a big red X on it, in the gallery above. What do you think? Album-worthy artwork?

[UPDATE #2: Deluxe Edition Cover Art Revealed]

You can now peep the deluxe edition cover artwork for Chris Brown's upcoming X album, which is very much like the standard edition, save for the big X across Breezy is a beige color rather than red.
