Alex's plotting to take over the damn world.

A couple of weeks back we posted about the report conducted by Bloomberg that let it be known that Amazon's Alexa products are listening to its customers, as a way to boost the productivity and understanding of the products.

“We only annotate an extremely small sample of Alexa voice recordings in order [to] improve the customer experience. For example, this information helps us train our speech recognition and natural language understanding systems, so Alexa can better understand your requests, and ensure the service works well for everyone," the spokesperson detailed.

Now days later, Mashable exclusively reveals that Amazon's Alexa products not only listen to you but know where you are.

"Access to internal tools is highly controlled, and is only granted to a limited number of employees who require these tools to train and improve the service by processing an extremely small sample of interactions," a spokesperson told the publication. "Our policies strictly prohibit employee access to or use of customer data for any other reason, and we have a zero tolerance policy for abuse of our systems."

While Amazon claims that they have "zero tolerance" for employees abusing the information, it doesn't necessarily mean it can't and won't happen. Godspeed to any Alexa owners.
