New paperwork suggests that rapper Travis Scott wants to make sure that jurors in his upcoming trial won't have a bias opinion about his affiliation with the Kardashian-Jenner family. The rapper is being sued by concert promotion company PJAM out of Minnesota for canceling a gig that Scott backed out of just hours before he was set to take the stage.
The company reportedly said they not only paid the rapper $150,000 plus an additional $10,000 to his booking agent, but they chartered a private jet and dished out even more cash to promote the Myth Nightclub event the weekend of the 2018 Super Bowl. Now that the trial is approaching, Scott's lawyers have a few questions for the jury regarding their opinions on the Kardashian-Jenner crew and their views on hip hop.
According to The Blast, potential jurors will be asked if they are familiar with Scott, Cardi B, Future, or Gucci Mane. They'll also be asked if they believe rap music objectifies women and glorifies violence, sex, and drugs. Scott's lawyers will check to see if any of the jurors questioned watched his 2019 Super Bowl performance or are familiar with his girlfriend Kylie Jenner.
Scott has also counter-sued the promotions company, stating that they never confirmed his travel plans so he wasn't clear on whether or not they actually wanted him to perform. The rapper also says they breached their contract by speaking to the press and didn't have enough money to cover his expenses. The promoter denies those claims and says that the real reason Scott bailed on the show is that Jenner gave birth to their daughter Stormi just days prior.
The trial is set to begin near the end of this year.
