Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are crafting themselves an interesting defense in their college bribery case. It seems as though they did not take a plea deal because their lawyer is now stating that they had no idea their money would go towards college bribery. When Lori gave ring leader Rick Singer $500K, she claims that she didn't necessarily know what he would do with it, TMZ reports.
Lori did know that Rick wanted photos of her daughters rowing, but she didn't know he would submit them to the school making it seem as though they were avid rowers. At this point, the only major issue in the case is the fact that Lori did send $100k directly to the assistant athletic director.
The couple's lawyer is already on it though. It's common for families of future students to fund certain aspects of a school in hopes of the children attending in the future.
Plea or not, Lori is facing at least two years in prison while her famous accomplice, Felicity Huffman, has pleaded guilty and is facing 20 years. "I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions," ” Felicity said in a statement.
