Damian Lillard showed no mercy during Tuesday night's Game 5 at the Moda Center, as he and the Blazers eliminated Russell Westbrook and the OKC Thunder from the playoffs. As we know, Lillard went off for 50 points, including the spectacular 37-foot game-winner, in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Simply put, Dame was locked in.
Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes today revealed some details about Lillard's mindset heading into the Game 5 showdown, and how the All Star point guard told his friends on Monday night, "'I'm getting rid of these motherfuckers tomorrow.'"
"Damian Lillard invited a few people to his home for dinner on Monday night to watch Game 4 of the first-round series between the Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets."
"For several minutes, the Portland Trail Blazers' star guard sat quietly on his sofa, chowing down on fried catfish, red beans and rice, and broccoli. And then suddenly, he spoke: 'I'm getting rid of these motherfuckers tomorrow.'"
Getting rid of those motherfuckers is exactly what Lillard did. He connected on 17 of 33 field goals and 10 of 18 three-pointers in the 118-115 victory. The Blazers now await the winner of the Denver Nuggets-San Antonio Spurs series. The Nuggets lead that series 3-2 heading into Thursday night's Game 6 in San Antonio.
