Among the fiery collection of tracks Lil Wayne has dropped during #CarterVSeason is "D'usse," a track named for Jay Z's Cognac brand (which you may remember from Jay's D'usse/Do say pun on Beyoncé's "Drunk In Love"). Weezy also shouts out the Rap Mogul on the track, saying "Hov, fuck wit' your boy."
In a new interview with MTV, Tunechi clarifies the reference-heavy song, saying that it was, like all of his music, a spur-of-the-moment composition, and calling Jay "the god."
"Hov is the god," said Weezy, "I’ll give Hov a big shout out at all times... We was just on that D’usse heavy. I don’t write none of my music. I don’t write it down, so I just go in there and say whatever come to my mind... So what came to my mind that night, was what was on my mind that night."
The interviewer also asked Wayne if Jay would pop up on Tha Carter V, but he didn't sound optimistic about that possibility: "I'm not gonna bother that guy, he seems like he's pretty pretty busy right now."
