Remember back in July when Kanye West “attacked” a photographer at LAX and was later charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft? Well, it looks like Yeezus can finally put those charges behind him, but not before he first pays for his so-called “crime”. Earlier today, the Chicago rapper was sentenced to two years probation, 250 hours of community service and 24 anger management sessions.
Kanye previously pleaded not guilty to charges of misdemeanor battery and attempted grand theft, but today his attorney appeared in court for a “special plea” in which he maintains his innocence, and pleaded “no contest”. But the throne wasn't in Kanye's court as he was also ordered to spend one day in county jail, however it's expected that Kanye will be booked and released immediately after.
The judge also ruled that he must pay for the photographer’s equipment and medical bills.
West’s attorney says the rapper was only trying to prevent a photographer, Daniel Ramos, from taking his picture. Ramos has also filed a civil lawsuit against West.
