Donovan Mitchell has been one of the most exciting young players in the league and has been seen as just an overall good guy by his peers. On Monday night, Mitchell dropped 31 points on the Houston Rockets in game four when his Utah Jazz were down 3-0 in the series. Winning four straight to complete the miraculous comeback seems like an impossible task, although for Mitchell, some things are just way more important than the game of basketball.
According to a report from the Salt Lake Tribune, Mitchell was driving through downtown Salt Lake City on Sunday when he noticed a car accident on the side of the road. Mitchell says he drove by and saw a woman in distress and that's when he stopped to make sure everybody involved was okay.
"I was driving by, a lady was falling out of her car, the airbags went off, she was grabbing her chest and I was like, 'Oh shoot,' Mitchell said. "Like a natural instinct to found out what happened."
Mitchell explained that everybody involved in the crash was safe and that he doesn't want to make more of his gesture than it was.
"I was just going out there to make sure she was OK," he said. "I don't want to make it like a big, big deal."
