Though many have been openly lambasting his character, there are some still eager to catch Woody Allen's next cinematic effort. As it happens, the first trailer for A Rainy Day In New York has finally be released, by Woody Allen himself, no less. The film, which stars Selena Gomez, Timothée Chalamet, Elle Fanning, Jude Law and Diego Luna, looks to center around "two young people who arrive in New York for a weekend where they are met with bad weather and a series of adventures.” Simple though it may be, expect plenty of social complications to unfold in typical Allen fashion.
Of course, that is if the movie ultimately comes to see the light of day, given the ongoing legal issues between Woody Allen and Amazon, the studio behind A Rainy Day. For some context, Amazon originally shelved the film "indefinitely," after sexual assault allegations toward Woody Allen hit the public sphere. In retaliation, Allen clapped back with a $68 million dollar lawsuit targeting Amazon Studios.
In any case, the trailer can be seen on Woody Allen's official Facebook page, as well as through a potato-quality version via Youtube.
