Will Smith just finished wrapping up the filming for the anticipated Bad Boys For Life film, arriving January 2020, and already he's given us something else to hold us over until the threequel arrives. Coming from director Ang Lee, known for Brokeback Mountain, Hulk and Life of Pi, Will plays as an aging assassin who's sent on a mission to kill a suspect.
It isn't until they both come in contact with each other that Will's character realizes he's trying to kill himself, just a younger version. According to Lee, Gemini Man uses “incredible new digital technology,” so viewers can “finally see both younger and older Will Smith embodied together on screen.”
The film, which also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Benedict Wong, and Clive Owen, hits theaters October 11th.
“One of the reasons the movie is finally being made is that the technology is at a place where it’s possible to make it and to make it well,”Mary Elizabeth Winstead said of the film. “The technology is really kind of experimental in a lot of ways. I think Ang is really pushing the boundaries of filmmaking and the visuals and the experience of watching a movie.
“It’s hard for me to describe because I’m not the most tech savvy, but I think you’re going to be experiencing a completely new way of watching a movie and I’m really really excited to see the final film,” she added.
