This year has treated 21 Savage well. Through the course of 2017, he grew from being an up and coming Atlanta rapper to being one of the industries most sought out personalities. It's well deserved. With the success of Issa Album, he headlined his own tour, got some huge endorsements and started dating one of the baddest women in the industry. While the album's lead single "Bank Account" has gone platinum since the release of the project, he now has another plaque to add to his collection.
The RIAA is now reporting that 21 Savage's Issa Album is now certified gold. It's a well-deserved accomplishment for 21 considering how much work he's put in over the past few years. It was a highly anticipated project, especially after the success of the Metro Boomin produced Savage Mode. The commercial success that surrounded that album surpassed projections. While the project was also competing with Jay-Z's 4:44 album around the time of it's release, it managed to debut at number 2 on the Billboard 200 as well as selling 77K in it's first week. It was initially projected that he'd sell between 50-60 K. It's looking like 21 Savage's debut album will be leading it's way to platinum in the near future.
21 Savage now has six of his efforts that have gone gold. However, the other five have also reached it's way to platinum already. His album with Metro Boomin is certified platinum along with it's singles "No Heart" and the Future-assisted "X." Along with that, his single "Red Opps" is also platinum as well as his debut album's leading single "Bank Account." In addition to this, 21 Savage also recently received his first number one single. It was announced by Billboard that his collaboration with Post Malone on "rockstar" is now at the top of the charts. The single knocked off Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow" which was standing in their way of the position for three weeks. However, they are now sitting at the top of the charts for a second week in a row. It's definitely been a good few months for 21 Savage.
