Lucki Eck$ describes his sound as "alternative trap", which is a pretty accurate descriptor, with his music adopting the low end of Atlanta's street hip hop and the dreamy atmospherics of cloud rap.
His vocal approach lies somewhere outside of both of these worlds however, with his often half-sung couplets sounding closer to the soulful delivery of Chance The Rapper (if you added a bit of weed fatigue).
Lucki's certainly got a more restrained sound compared to many of his Chicago peers, and his new Body High mixtape sees him developing the style further. If you've yet to check out the project, make sure to do so here.
Quotable Lyrics:
And I'm like
I know you probably work with the devil
I know y'all probably got a good deal
But I probably couldn't say this any better
If you let me love you or get killed
