The premise of The Masked Singer is pretty simple. Twelve celebrities are dressed up in ridiculous costumes to mask their identities, performing songs and hiding in plain sight. If you can recognize who is singing, that's not a good sign for the performer. The goal is to be as inconspicuous as possible. The season finale took place last night and, to everybody's surprise, the winner was announced with T-Pain stepping out of the monster's costume.

The judges were shocked when Teddy Penderazdoun stepped out of his costume, but when they went over the clues they were provided to figure out his identity, things started to get pieced together. T-Pain admitted that he believed he would be eliminated on the first show because of how recognizable his voice is. However, since some of his biggest songs are drenched in auto-tune, his natural tone and vocal strength may not have directly come across to the judges. "Truly one of the most humbling and amazing things I’ve ever done," wrote the rapper on Twitter.

Earlier this week, T-Pain released a new project with appearances from Lil Wayne, Tory Lanez and others. He also made headlines by claiming that Soulja Boy is the "greatest artist of all time." While that's debatable, Soulja has been one of the most influential rappers of the last decade.
