Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone is eager to hop back in the octagon for a big-money bout against Irish superstar Conor McGregor once the latter's suspension comes to an end.
Cerrone has teased an upcoming bout with McGregor multiple times over the last few months, with the latest hint coming via Instagram. Cowboy posted a photo of a bottle of Budweiser next to McGregor's Proper 12 Whiskey along with "July 6," which is when UFC 239 is expected to take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Cowboy first teased a potential fight against Conor following his submission victory against Mike Perry at UFC Fight Night 139 in November.
Last month, after defeating Alexander Hernandez by way of a second-round TKO, Cerrone took to instagram with a post that read, "Don't worry @TheNotoriousMMA I’ll drink @properwhiskey at the Press Conference with ya!! Hell I’ll bring the @budweiser."
McGregor responded, "For a fight like that Donald, I’ll fight you. Congratulations."
While a Cerrone vs McGregor program is certainly something that most UFC fans want to see, it's also not the only rumored bout in the mix.
Tony Ferguson, the UFC's #2 ranked Lightweight behind Khabib Nurmagomedov, recently turned down an opportunity to fight for the interim title at UFC 236 and has since taken to social media to call out McGregor.
We'll just have to wait and see what UFC President Dana White decides.
