With the Nike Hyper Adapt and the new Adapt BB, Nike has been trying to put a monopoly on the self-lacing sneaker wave. Despite this, it appears as though Puma has now entered the fight with a brand new self-lacing model dubbed the Fit Intelligence or Fi that will be released in 2020. According to Sole Collector, these kicks will be low tops and should be mainly used for light running and workouts, as opposed to sports like basketball which is what Nike Adapt series is typically used for.
The Fit Intelligence will use an interesting cable lacing system that is covered up by a device that sits on the tongue. Users can adjust their laces by swiping up or down on the lace lock, or they can use a mobile app.
As for the look of these shoes, they are pretty sleek and stealthy and stand to look really good on feet. The upper is all-over black mesh with a silvery mesh Puma logo on the sides. The midsole is black as well and there is an "Fi" symbol on the back.
For those who want to get their hands on these early, Puma is offering Beta testing. You can hit up the Pumatrac app and puma.com for information on how to sign up for the test.
What do you think of these auto-lacing shoes? Is this the wave or nah?
