Being in last place is not fun and no other team in the NBA understands that more than the New York Knicks right now. At 10-40, the Knicks are having one of their worst seasons in franchise history and have been the laughing stock of the league this year. The team has even been benching Enes Kanter, a player that gives them a better chance at winning every night. Perhaps the team's struggles can be chalked up to Kristaps Porzingis' ACL injury. It is uncertain if he'll have to miss the entire season and his presence has most certainly been missed. Well, the Knicks fortunes may have gotten a lot worse because according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Porzingis might be on his way out.
Woj reported that Porzingis met with the Knicks and outlined some concerns about the team and how they continue to lose. From there, it became apparent that Kristaps no longer wants to be a part of the team and that the Knicks will look into trading him before the February 7th trade deadline.
Porzingis could potentially be headed to the New Orleans Pelicans with trade rumors surrounding Anthony Davis intensifying. If Davis were to be dealt to the Knicks, Porzingis would be a prime candidate to be a part of that deal.
