Many look back on Toy Story 3 rather fondly, as both a fine piece of cinema and an emotional tearjerker. Even the most battle-hardened soul likely felt their face contorting upon watching the toys prepare to meet their untimely incineration. Despite the fact that the first two installments are relatively light on the emotional fare, especially compared to the third chapter, the Toy Story series has developed a reputation as an emotionally devastating franchise. Now, it would appear that the fourth chapter is looking to continue the tradition, as indicated by a few revelations from the cast.
Tom Hanks took to Instagram to reflect on his final session as "Woody," combining both his character's signature phrase (although one might argue "there's a snake in my boot" should hold that honor) with Buzz Lightyear's classic sendoff. Naturally, fans took to Hanks' comment section expressing their emotional connection to the franchise, shedding a tear in preparation for the big drop. Never one to be one-upped by the likes of Woody, Tim Allen chimed in with his own reflection on his final days.
"Finished my Buzz for Toy Story 4 today and it got emotional. Wonderful full body story," writes Tim Allen, the mastermind behind Buzz Lightyear.
"You are all going to love the work this incredible team at Pixar created. We are all going to love this story....man its got everything."
