Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton made an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Thursday night, where he revealed the he has decided not to have sex for the entire month of March.
Furthermore, Newton explained "no climax," period.
“In March — I hope this is an adult crowd, it looks like it is — no climax,” Newton said.
Newton explained to Corden and fellow guest, actor David Boreanaz, that he has been giving up something each month. For instance, in January it was gambling and in February it was meat.
When Boreanaz joked that Newton should've taken the "no sex" challenge in February, because it's the shortest month, the Panthers QB responded, "I wanted it to be challenging." He added, "I’m coming off shoulder surgery.”
So why is Cam taking a vow of celibacy, and giving up other things he loves each month? According to him, it helps sharpen the mind.
“It makes my mind stronger,” Newton said. “So when the season comes around, I say if I did those things, I’m mentally stronger.”
