Joel Embiid plays big, but his mouth is even bigger. The 76er is infamous for trolling online and making outlandish comments. He has taken shots at other players, and even professed his longing for Rihana before taking it back. Embiid is just as much a character on the court, as he is off the court. The 76ers were able to defeat the Brooklyn Nets this weekend, after a tense and close game. The 76ers are now up 3-1 in the series, which promoted Embiid to comment on the most infamous 3-1 lead in NBA history.
"It feels great to be up 3-1, but we definitely don't want to be in a situation like the Warriors two years ago," Embiid told the press after the win. Jimmy Butler couldn't help but laugh. "I was kidding. But we want to be able to close it at home. That was a big win, so we just gotta go home and don't let them have any chance."
Embiid missed Game 3 due to an injury in his left knee, but logged 31 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, and 6 blocks in Saturday night's win over the Nets. Jimmy Butler and the Nets' Jared Dudley were ejected from Game 4 after a fight in the third quarter. We don't expect Game 5 to be any less acrimonious.
