Richardson just wants a second chance at glory.

Trent Richardson had a pretty lackluster career in the NFL. He was a highly touted running back coming out of college and is now considered one of the biggest draft busts in NFL history. Richardson has since found himself in the Alliance of American Football or AAF for short. He currently plays for the Birmingham Iron and is putting up some impressive numbers, with six touchdowns in three games. He also has 145 rushing yards and 68 receiving yards, making him the highest scorer in the league. Richardson says he wants to use that success to propel himself back into the NFL.

"In a few months, hopefully I’ll be getting a phone call [from the NFL] after we leave Vegas, where we have us a nice championship," Richardson explained to Sports Illustrated. "But you know, in a few months, I definitely hope I’ll be getting a phone call from the big show. And if that opportunity comes, I’ll do everything I can to be that guy. Be the one they talk about having the greatest comeback or, you know, who has the greatest story in football. That’s where I want to be."

With the Iron at 3-0 already, they appear to be a team that could win the league's inaugural championship. For now, though, Richardson just wants to prove he has what it takes.

"I’m just another hungry man out there, trying to do everything I can to get back to the big show, and to get that W at the end of the day," he said. "I don’t look at it as having a chip. I look at it as, I’m playing good football."

Richardson currently leads the league in both carries and touchdowns.
