Dixon was a close friend of the Durant family.

News broke this morning that Cliff Dixon, who was also the ex-boyfriend of Erica Mena, was tragically shot and killed outside of a nightclub during his 32nd birthday celebration. It was a night that Dixon was supposed to remember but unfortunately took a tragic turn. Not only was Dixon a beloved person in the hip-hop community, but he was also one of Kevin Durant's best friends. Durant even referred to Dixon at times as his "adopted brother."

While Durant hasn't issued a statement about the death of his friend, his mom Wanda took to Twitter to offer condolences to Dixon's family and all of those he has left behind.

"The Durant family extends our deepest condolences & prayers to Cliff’s mother, siblings, family & friends," Wanda wrote. "Our family was an extension of his & we shared wonderful memories. His transition is an incredible loss for all of us who loved him, he will be missed dearly #CliffDixon RIP"

Other celebrities have shared their grief over the loss of Dixon, including rapper Dave East who took to Instagram to say: "I Can’t think of no memories with @easymoneysniper or @tdurant And u wasn’t there. We been cool since like 16-17 years old.
