Lauryn Hill fans have had the pleasure of experiencing her classics through "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Anniversary Tour." With the excitement also came some disappointment since the rapper canceled some dates and failed to be punctual at others. Ms. Hill is set to perform in Johannesburg this Saturday. While the show was announced several months ago, some of her admirers in South Africa were worried the singer might not show up. Some were even hesitant to purchase tickets. The "Doo-Wop" singer took time to reassure the masses that she will, indeed, come through with her special guest.
"I got word that some people were doubtful that Nas and I were coming to Johannesburg to play. FRom the first say we started putting the tour together, playing Africa was a must," she wrote. "Not only are we coming, but we're coming to establish an important precedent (TO ME). I would like to play across continental Africa as completely and as often as I play in Europe and other international markets. We love the people, the culture(s), the sounds, the vibrancy and the idea of making that connection a physical reality."
Before heading to the motherland, the tour will make its way to Australia and New Zealand "to make more great memories."
