Juelz Santana was supposed to head to prison today to check-in for his 27-month bid. The rapper managed to push back his surrender date by a month after pleading with the judge to allow him to film a "Tyler Perry Reunion" in Atlanta in February. While the judge granted Juelz the month delay, Perry has reportedly denied any involvement in a reunion special with the Dipset MC.
Sources close to The Blast are making it clear that Tyler Perry isn't doing a reunion special with Juelz Santana. The rapper claimed that he needed to travel to Atlanta in mid-February in order to film a "Tyler Perry Reunion."
Juelz might not be working with Tyler Perry directly, he wasn't lying entirely. He will need to travel to Atlanta to film "Love & Hip Hop: New York" at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. However, that's the extent of Perry's connection to the rapper. Sources close to Perry are dumbfounded as to why Juelz Santana decided to include the "Madea" star's name in his plea for the extension.
In his petition for the delay of his surrender date, the document reads, "Mr. James seeks to attend the filming of a Tyler Perry reunion in Georgia. connected to his participation in the television show ‘Love & Hip Hop.’ It is crucial to his professional career that he be able to participate, and it will provide closure for him as he embarks on his term of imprisonment."
