The NFL has faced criticism for the Saints vs Rams game.

During the NFC Championship game between the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams, the Saints were the victim of one of the worst non-calls in NFL history. Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman hit a Saints wide receiver before he even had a chance to catch the ball, which should have been a pass interference call. Instead, the referee ignored it and the Saints were forced to go for a field goal. In the end, the Rams won the game and everyone in New Orleans was calling for the game to be nullified and replayed.

Since then, the NFL has received a plethora of criticism for the rules and how they have handled the situation. Now though, the NFL seems as though they are taking action and looking at ways to implement measures that could prevent this sort of thing from happening again.

According to ESPN, sources close the NFL are saying that they are looking into giving coaches a challenge flag, or extra challenges for judgment calls typically made by the referee. This means that if a coach is not happy with a call made on the field, particularly a penalty call or non-call, the coach can challenge it and it will go to a replay.

After the Saints and Rams game, the refs admitted that they blew the call and that the play was, in fact, pass interference.
