"My plan and my desire is to retire at Kentucky."

On the eve of the true start to the NCAA Tournament, Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari took to twitter to announce his plans for the future. Those plans: Retire as the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats.

Coach Cal tweeted the following on Wednesday night:

"Before I go to bed, let me just say this: I’m coaching at the Univ. of Kentucky. In my opinion, there is no better job in the world to coach basketball. My plan and my desire is to retire at Kentucky. I think the university feels the same as I do and we’ve talked openly about it."

He added, "Now let’s focus on this game tomorrow!"

It seems as though Calipari has been rumored to leave Kentucky for a few years now, including reports that he reached out to the New York Knicks two years ago in regards to a head coach/front office position. In addition to the numerous NBA opportunities, UCLA has recently kicked the tires on several high profile coaches, which included Calipari, according to ESPN.

Kentucky enters the NCAA Tournament as the #2 seed in the Midwest Region, and they'll take on the Wildcats of Abilene Christian at 7:10pm ET tonight as the first round of March Madness officially gets underway.
