Ariana Grande recently reached a career milestone when she tied with The Beatles when having the number one, two and three spots on the Billboard Hot 100 due to her Thank U, Next album. The celebratory tracks were "Thank U, Next," "7 Rings," and "Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored."
The singer has now reached another milestone, in the social media world, since becoming the most-followed woman on Instagram surpassing Selena Gomez. Ariana is now sitting at 146.3 million followers while Selena is now at 146.2, USA Today notes. Apparently, Selena held the title as the most-followed woman for three years but her previous departure from social media seemingly resulted in her follow drop.
"[...] Taking a social media break. Again. As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given," Selena told previously wrote. "Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi."
Ariana's rise in followers have a lot to do with her album success, on and off relationship with Pete Davidson among other things.
