Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is a Los Angeles Lakers legend with six championships under his belt. He also has the NBA record for most points all-time and continues to be a beacon of the community. Abdul-Jabbar has been known to help out wherever he can and with this latest deed, he is doing just that. Kareem will be auctioning off four of his NBA championship rings, as well as a plethora of other memorabilia. The sale will be done through Goldwin Auctions, with most of the proceeds going to his Skyhook Foundation which allows students more opportunity to learn about STEM fields.

"When it comes to choosing between storing a championship ring or trophy in a room, or providing kids with an opportunity to change their lives, the choice is pretty simple. Sell it all," Abdul-Jabbar wrote according to ESPN.

Kareem also says that he is in a place of financial stability and is happy with what he has accomplished. Now he's more focused on using his success to help others.

"Looking back on what I have done with my life, instead of gazing at the sparkle of jewels or gold plating celebrating something I did a long time ago, I'd rather look into the delighted face of a child holding their first caterpillar and think about what I might be doing for their future," he explained. "That's a history that has no price."
