Brady's value continues to rise.

With six Super Bowl championships and nine appearances in the big game, it is clear that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is one of the best players to ever do it. With this in mind, it's no surprise that his memorabilia would go for a lot of money if it were to be auctioned off. Well, that's exactly what happened as a rare Tom Brady rookie card was recently sold for $400,100 at auction, according to ESPN.

PWCC Marketplace and eBay were the ones who coordinated the sale and according to both parties, this is the most amount of money spent on a football trading card.

"This sale was record-setting but also largely predicted," PWCC Marketplace CEO Brett Huigens explained. "The trading card market is rapidly maturing among tangible asset investors and record prices are becoming increasingly frequent, especially among the market's most desired issues."

Huigens also talked about the card itself, saying that it is the best card or piece of memorabilia they have ever come across.

"This auction event featured the finest football card we've brokered in our 20-year history and achieved the highest-ever hammer price for a football card," Huigens said. "We were honored to present this asset to the public and are delighted for the new owner."

The card was one of 100 ever made.
