"if I can, 100 percent, I’d die in that Wizards jersey."

Washington Wizards All Star shooting guard Bradley Beal recently hopped on the Posted Up podcast with Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes, in which he revealed just how dedicated he is to sticking it out with the Wizards.

Beal, who signed a five-year, $127 million contract extension with Washington in 2016, says he wants to "die in that Wizards jersey."

“I’m different than a lot of people, I hate change,” Beal tells Chris Haynes (H/T ClutchPoints). “I hate being different. You know, I hate all of that… if I can, 100 percent, I’d die in that Wizards jersey. Until that day comes, I’m going to just duke it out day by day, play out my contract. If they want me, I’m staying. If they don’t, it was great.”

“At the end of the day, I’m here,” he added. “I don’t think I’m going nowhere and they’ve made it clear to me. And until that day that I’m moving in another jersey, I’m going to fight my tail off to get one (championship).”

The Wizards selected Beal third overall out of Florida in the 2012 NBA Draft, and while the team has reached the post-season in four of his first six seasons, they have never made it out of the second round.

The 25-year old two-time All Star is averaging career-highs across the board this season with 25.4 points, 5.4 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game. That said, the Wizards have struggled this season and are currently sitting in 11th place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 24-36.
