Chance the Rapper came through with yet another spot ahead of the Super Bowl. The Doritos advertisement paired the emcee with The Backstreet Boys, offering some 90s nostalgia with a contemporary twist. The latest clip promoting the brand's Flaming Hot flavor features Chance remixing the boy band's hit, "I Want It That Way." The ad opens to Chance The Rapper popping a Doritos chip into his mouth which transports him into a new scene where the performance begins. View the clip below.
The chips company aims to create a sensation with the kind of impact they created during Super Bowl LII with hip-hop vets Missy Elliot and Busta Rhymes. The full advert will take shape as a music video during Sunday's game. Doritos is also planning to take their campaign to social media during the Super Bowl. They will bring their #NowItsHot initiative to Snapchat. The platform's user will have access to filters inspired by the band's 90s aesthetic.
“Fans have come to expect boldness and originality in our Super Bowl ads,” said Leslie Vesper, senior director of marketing for Frito Lay North America. “And, with a highly anticipated product like Flamin’ Hot Nacho, we knew we had to keep pushing the limits of Super Bowl advertising collaboration with a dynamic collaboration."
