Atlanta is one of the biggest music cities in the world, currently striving in the hip-hop genre with so much talent arising from the ATL and surrounding areas in Georgia. It makes sense for a major music festival to take place in the city and considering so many rappers call it their home, a hip-hop festival in Atlanta just sounds right. Music Midtown doesn't necessarily market itself as a rap-centric concert but the upcoming edition of the show will house a number of the best vocalists within the genre today.
Taking place in September, Music Midtown has just announced their line-up and so far, we're impressed by what we see. The headlining acts are strong with Travis Scott leading the fray, bringing Astroworld to the A for one night. Other stars, like Panic! At The Disco, Billie Elish and Vampire Weekend are listed at the top of the card. The middle of the line-up announcement is full of names that Atlanta rap fans will recognize, like Lil Yachty and 6LACK. Lizzo, Charlie Puth, Kali Uchis, Jaden Smith, Taylor Bennett and the rising Dominic Fike have also all been announced.
The festival has been held annually in Atlanta since 1994 and this year brings one of the most diverse groups of artists together for the weekend. The show will take place on September 14 and 15 and tickets will be available here this Friday.
