Brees is taking this latest loss to heart.

It was a heartbreaking sight for the New Orleans Saints when they lost in the NFC Championship game to the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday. The game finished 26-23 in overtime but a controversial blown pass-interference call led some to believe the Saints got hosed out of a sure win. Afterward, many fans and Saints players gave their opinions on what had transpired, but quarterback Drew Brees stayed relatively silent. Now, in an Instagram post, Brees is talking about the loss.

"I’ve spent this last week navigating the heartache and disappointment from the game," Brees wrote. "Some things within our control and some outside our control that caused us to fall short. So much of our motivation is to represent the Who Dat Nation with determination and resiliency. We want to play for you, fight for you, and win for you. You deserve that."

Brees continued by giving thanks to the Saints fans and saying that the team will be back stronger than ever next season.

"There is no place like New Orleans. There is no community like ours. No fans like the Who Dat Nation. I refuse to let this hold us down. I refuse to let this create any negativity or resentment. I embrace the challenge," Brees said. "So keep your chin up, hold your head high, puff your chest out because WE are the Who Dat Nation and WE will always persevere."

Had the Saints won, they would have played the New England Patriots for the Super Bowl.
