During last night's Royal Rumble PPV (results here), the WWE announced that "Halftime Heat" will be returning for the first time in 20 years during halftime of Super Bowl LIII on February 3.
The special "Halftime Heat" event will be a six-man tag match featuring WWE NXT's biggest stars, including NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa newly crowned NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole vs. Velveteen Dream, Aleister Black and Ricochet. Furthermore, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will be on hand to call the action as part of the announce team.
The six-man tag match will be available to stream on WWE Network, WWE.com, the WWE app, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
In addition to the star-studded six-man tag, WWE will also be airing a marathon of some of NXT’s most epic matches of all time starting at 2pm ET on Super Bowl Sunday. Just like "Halftime Heat," you can catch all of the action on WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
The WWE has only gone up against the NFL's Super Bowl halftime show once before back in 1999, when Mankind defeated The Rock in an empty-arena match to win his second WWE championship.
