Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Justin Timberlake take the lead when it comes to rap and R&B nominations this year for the Billboard Music Awards, although Imagine Dragons and Lorde have the most nominations of all artists.

The nominations for the annual Billboard Music Awards have arrived today. Perhaps unsurprisingly, considering these guys dominated the Billboard 200 over the last year, Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are among the top contenders with eleven and ten nominations respectively. However, it's actually Imagine Dragons and Lorde that lead the entire pack, both with twelve nominations a piece.

Macklemore competes against Drake (five nominations total), Jay Z (also five nominations total), Eminem (six nominations total) and Pitbull for Top Rap Artist, while JT goes against Beyonce, Pharrell, Rihanna and Robin Thicke in the category of Top R&B Artist. The Heist is also up for Top Rap Album, against J. Cole's Born Sinner, Drake's Nothing Was The Same, Eminem's MMLP2 and Jay Z's Magna Carta, Holy Grail. In the category of Top Rap Song it's a competition of Macklemore vs. Macklemore, as he has two songs up for nomination, "Thrift Shop" and "Can't Hold Us." Apart from competing with himself in that category, he's up against Pitbull & Ke$ha's "Timber", Eminem and Rihanna's "The Monster", as well as Hov and Justin Timberlake's "Holy Grail."

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 18th on ABC at 8 PM.
