It's no secret, the Afropunk festival isn't a close-knit community gathering anymore. Somewhere along the way, the organizers got the itch to expand their brand on a global scale - outside the nascent festival grounds in Brooklyn.
Around this time every year, Afropunk announces its intentions to the world. In the year 2019, those include yet another wayfaring expedition into Europe (Paris and London), another in South Africa, for the 3rd year-running in Johannesburg, and the North American variant taking place in Atlanta on October 12 and 13. The preliminary list of performers in Atlanta reads as follows.
