Face it Lakers fans, this season has been an abysmal one and it's all but confirmed that you'll have to wait until next season to have a shot at the postseason. It wasn't supposed to be this way though. With the addition of LeBron James, the Lakers were destined for greatness this season. Unfortunately, a plethora of injuries and chemistry woes kept the team from reaching its true potential down the stretch. Now the team is 11th in the Western Conference with a record of 31-39 and have turned themselves from a contender to a laughing stock.
Despite all of this, LeBron still has confidence in the team moving forward, especially when it comes to free agency. For James, the team treats players well and is a prime spot to play in.
"At the end of the day, this franchise wants to win and wants to win big," James told the Orange County Register. "And the one thing about the franchise, they cater to the players. And that's it. Everything else comes secondary. They only want us to go out and perform at a high level and play the game at a high level, so we can be mentioned with some of the great teams that's in the league at that point in time."
LeBron seems to be taking this season in stride, saying it's comforting to know that the team has the ability to improve and be great for seasons to come.
"We have an opportunity to get better," James said. "That's something that is definitely great to know that - when you have an opportunity to get better from a personnel standpoint."
