The Lakers have had an abysmal 2019.

After starting the season in promising fashion, the Los Angeles Lakers have faltered in the second half of the season. They are now ranked 11th in the Western Conference standings with a record of 31-39. They are also 9.5 games back of a playoff spot with only a handful of games remaining. With this in mind, it seems all but finalized that the team will be missing the postseason for yet another year. This is especially disappointing when you think about how the team added LeBron James to the roster. Fans expected LeBron to fill the shoes left behind by Kobe Bryant and so far, he hasn't been able to live up to the expectations.

Speaking of Kobe, TMZ Sports caught up with the Lakers legend the other night and asked him what he thought about the team's playoff chances. To basically no one's surprise, Bryant isn't very confident, offering a simple "well, maybe next year" in response to the question.

There has been plenty of turmoil surrounding the Lakers this season, making them a Soap Opera that seems to some exceptional drams every single week. A lot of it has to do with injuries, so if you're a Laker fan, you can probably take solace in the fact that next season will most likely see a much healthier and more functional squad.

Until then though, you can always watch golf.
