Following her near-fatal overdose and re-admission into rehab back in July, Demi Lovato has kept a low profile this year. Last week, after famed talent manager and entertainment executive, Scooter Braun, tweeted simply the word "Demi," rumors started circulating that Braun was teasing an upcoming collaboration with Lovato and one of his star clients.
Braun manages a portfolio of famous faces including names like Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Kanye West. Lovato's most recent single "Sober" was the last project she worked on before her relapse, and fans were beginning to wonder when she would make her return to the studio. The singer was slow to return to the digital world with news of her recovery and asked fans to respect her privacy and healing process. A tweet of hers back in December read, "I would love to set the record straight on all the rumors out there but I literally don’t owe anyone anything so I’m not going to. All my fans need to know is I’m working hard on myself, I’m happy and clean and I’m SO grateful for their support. "
It seems Lovato has recovered and is back to business though, sharing the news via Instagram this Saturday that she has hired Scooter Braun as her new manager. "Couldn’t be happier, inspired and excited to begin this next chapter with you Scooter!!!" she writes. "Thank you for believing in me and for being apart of this new journey. Let’s DO THIS!"
