When he’s not pleading with Teairra Mari to get him his money or dissing Ja Rule on his social media channels, 50 Cent can be found taking aim at Trump. While he hasn’t been the most outspoken hip-hop personality against the current President of the United States, Fiddy has still vocalized his distaste for Donald Trump on occasion. During an appearance on James Corden’s late night show, he explained that he was offered half a million dollars to show up at Trump’s inauguration, which he turned down because it would seriously damage his image. Today, he's decided to switch fashion alliances with Trump in mind but this time, it's more because of his dislike of the First Lady.
50 Cent posted a screen capture of a story about designer Tom Ford, noting that he allegedly refuses to dress Melania Trump because she's a "glorified escort who steals speeches and has bad taste in men." Fiddy seems to co-sign that sentiment, taking after Jay-Z and only rocking Tom Ford from now on. Continuing his boycott of Gucci after their blackface controversy, Fif wrote that he's officially switching brands. "Fuck Gucci , Im wearing Tom Ford," he wrote. It looks like we'll be seeing the entrepreneur dress smarter in the coming months. Expect lots of fancy suits from Fif.
These days, politics and fashion seem to mesh more than ever before. With so many rappers calling out Gucci for their insensitive products pertaining to race, designers need to be more aware than in the past.
