Yeezus may not have been Kanye West's most well-received album, but the good news is, Kanye is already working on his next album. He doesn't provide any details on if he's going down the Yeezus-route again as opposed to more traditional hip-hop, but he does give quick updates on two other anticipated projects: Cruel Winter and Watch The Throne 2 while talking to Power 99.
We've heard from several people close to Kanye and Jay Z that Watch The Throne 2 is a strong possibility. Kanye says they don't have any concrete songs finished for the second instalment yet, but that's not to say they aren't thinking/working on it.
"Were constantly working, I mean we haven't made any songs for it yet. We gon' see what's gunna happen," Kanye said of WTT2 before going on to discuss his "product" he wants to get out by next September.
As for a follow-up to Yeezus, Kanye said, "I haven't named my next album, but I have started on it. I always write down philosophies all the time, so I'll just have some thoughts and every time I think of it I write, and I'm just collecting beats, I'm just constantly working."
"I'd like to put out more product, I'd like have another album out by next summer," he added. We wouldn't be mad at that.
Another project which had a lot of rumors and confusion surrounding it was a follow-up to Cruel Summer, Cruel Winter. At one point various G.O.O.D. Music members were saying contradicting things about the status of the project. Well, that could be Ye's fault, as he says he's been going back and forth about whether or not to do it.
"We think about it, I go back and forth on it. We just keep missing the winter, that's the only problem. We thinking 'bout dropping a Cruel Winter."
Check out the interview with Philly's Power 99 below, where Kanye also discusses Kendrick Lamar and the message behind "New Slaves."
