Roman & The Rock
The WWE superstar isn't letting leukaemia hold him hostage.

Roman Reigns hasn't appeared on a single WWE telecast or PPV since the revelation of his battle with leukaemia. The illness has all but ruled him out of participation in physical exertion tantamount to WWE wrestling, but Reigns will nonetheless try his hand at acting. WWE proudly reveal that Reigns will indeed join his distant cousin (on the Polynesian side) in the Hobbs & Shaw by playing his on-screen brother.

As you know, this isn't The Rock first rodeo as "Luke Hobbs," but it is nevertheless the franchise's first attempt at an offshoot centered around the auxiliary characters who were written into the Cinematic Universe later in the game.

"Rock announced that none other than Roman Reigns will appear in Hobbs & Shaw, a spinoff of the Fast and Furious franchise focused on the exploits of The Great One's government agent Luke Hobbs — a role he originated in 2011’s Fast Five — and the criminal Deckard Shaw, played by Jason Statham since 2013’s Fast & Furious 6," reads the official statement from the WWE, second-only to The Rock's IG announcement."

The Rock's IG post certainly emphasizes his fraternal pact with Roman Reigns, knee-deep in their Hobbs' personification. As the WWE literally states, "Luke Hobbs" is the babyface to "Deckard Shaw's" reformed heel character. So you know, somewhere along the line, Jason Statham will lose sight of the Buddy Cop dynamic and revert to his predatory instincts. Of course, Hollywood has a way of tying stories together neatly - without fail.
