It seems to be a slow process for Joey Bada$$' debut album B4.Da.$$. We first received the album title basically a year ago. Since then, we haven't received very much in the way of updates. Nonetheless the New York native has kept busy with the release of a new Pro Era compilation, perhaps purposefully giving some of his fellow crew members their own time to shine (i.e., CJ Fly released his mixtape Thee Way Eye See It.)
In a recent interview with Topman, Joey discussed his upcoming album however briefly, and his affinity for taking over creative control of everything he does.
When asked what we can expect from B4.Da.$$, the young rapper responds, "definitely a few surprises, but you can just expect pure greatness, you know, I’m really putting my all into this." He continued, "Generally I don’t think I get the respect that I deserve, but I’m not one to complain. I’m just gonna show and prove, so that’s what I’m gonna do with this album."
Joey also spoke on his activeness on social media, confirming that he thinks it's important for young artists to have a presence on social platforms. "Yeah, I think it’s really important. I’m the type of artist that needs full creative control. I can’t have anybody dictate what I want to do. I have my own ideas when it comes to marketing strategies and things like that so I’m just like all independent."
The album is set to arrive some time in 2014. Read more of his interview for Topman here.
